Chocolate and wine Tasting

Wednesday 2nd of April 2014 @ 19h30

Chocolate and wine . . . whilst the pairing sounds magnifique finding the right chocolatier to take on such a task has been challenging. That was until we found Chococo, makers of fine fresh handmade chocolates, who have recently opened their first shop outside of Dorset, located at the Guildhall end of Winchester High Street. We would recommend having a look at some of their chocolate selections at: www.chococo.co.uk

Back to the tasting, we will be offering 6 different styles of chocolates with 6 wines and spirits. This will be hosted by Claire, chocolate expert and chocolate maker from Chococo and Kevin, Sommelier of the Black Bottle. It is the first time that we ventured into chocolate and wine tasting here but what can go wrong when you eat chocolate and drink wine?!

£35 pp

P.S: And as we like you very much, almost as much as we like chocolate (that’s an understatement) at the end of the tasting we will be serving a ‘surprise wine’.

Italian Wine tasting:

Wednesday 12th March 2014 @ 19h30

Italian wine… Everyone would like to be of sipping a glass of Chianti or Prosecco overlooking those green rolling hills during a hot and bright sunny day? Yes, but … What if I tell you that Italy represents almost 1/3 of the world wine production and has more than 350 “authorised” grapes varieties. How many of the 73 DOCG (high quality wine regions) can you name?

Unfortunately we won’t be able try them all but we will travel through 6 different of the most famous regions of Italy.

P.S: You probably already know Pinot Grigio and Prosecco far too well for us to present them at the tasting…

Pucket Night!!

Wednesday 30th December 2013 @ 19.30

Do you know Pucket ? No…really ? Ok, this is the most competitive game ever and no need to be a genius or built as a mountain to be good: the two players race each other to clear the 8 pucks from their side of the board by catapulting them (by an elastic band) through a small hole leading to the other side (the “gate”). Any pucks that arrive on your side must be sent back and it carries on until one player has none left.

It will cost you £2 to enter the tournament, it will give you a fun night (even if you lose) and you can win the prize!

Here are a couple of links to give you a good idea of what it is all about:
